The Big chop

By | Fund Raising | No Comments

Thank you to Kelly McColl who has bravely had her hair chopped and her nephew Connor who has had his head shaved for SNAC. In her own words “I have been thinking of some fundraising ideas lately as I have only been part of the group since March and I can’t stress enough the difference you all at SNAC have made to not only my daughter Emma but our family by including all of is in everything. Emma came up with a fantastic idea (according to her 😂) that I should get my very long hair chooped off to see if i could get any sponsors. My family and friends are delighted that I have agreed to this as I’ve been growing my hair for years however I am all in and I will be going for the chop…The team at SNAC and all the parents and children are amazing and an inspiration and as it was Emma’s suggestion I couldn’t refuse.”

If you would like to sponsor Kelly please see link below.

Young Kaydee Cowie from Buckie has, once again been working hard for SNAC.   She has been collecting stamps for our appeal for three years now and spreading the word about Juvenile Arthritis while she’s at it.  The clipping is form the Banffshire Advertiser and has been seen by thousands of people.

Well done Kaydee.

Edinburgh Marathon – Thank You!

By | Fund Raising, News, Past Events | No Comments

On Saturday and Sunday the 28th and 29th May 2016 SNAC T Shirts appeared at the Edinburgh Marathon once again. SNAC flags and banners were visible around the course in Edinburgh.

As runners waited for buses and queued for the toilets the purple T Shirts of SNAC began to emerge! 120 runners showed up and ran for the Charity!! The relay “pens” were dotted with purple. It was quite emotional to see the amount of support!

The SNAC committee are very overwhelmed and grateful for everyone’s kindness and efforts! We had entries in the children’s races, the full and half marathon, the 10k and the relay. We even had some children with arthritis taking part, which is wonderful!

The supporters around the course did a fantastic job of keeping everyone going and raising much needed awareness of children’s arthritis.

This year was the first time SNAC had a tent at the finish, supporters, runners and families all met. It was fantastic to see everyone who had given the time to support our Charity and raise funds and awareness for Children’ arthritis.

Money is still trickling in, however, your efforts have raised an enormous £25,000 this year!

We simply wish to say THANK YOU! We appreciate your support very much, hopefully we will see you all again in 2018!

If you have any photos from the day that we can add to the website please send them to winners@snac.uk.com and we’ll put them on.

Glasgow Rocks v Surrey Scorchers 5pm Sunday 7th February 2016, Emirates Arena, Glasgow

Raising Funds for SNAC (Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children) Scotland’s only professional basketball team, Glasgow Rocks, will be taking on the Surrey Scorchers, and SNAC will be raising funds at the match.
We are delighted that the Rocks have, once again, given us discounted tickets to sell for the match, half the profits of which will come to the charity, and we will also have an information desk to tell people about the work SNAC does and to offer help and support to anyone living with childhood arthritis. With your support, we hope to raise a significant amount of money which will be used to fund our support work here in Scotland which will make a big difference to children who are living with arthritis right now. The cost of tickets for this brilliant evening of family fun and excitement is only £8 for adults and £5 for children under 16.

To reserve tickets, please email events@snac.uk.com
Tickets MUST be reserved in advance.
